How do I register for a new BDOI® account?

    Short Answer

You can create a new BDOI® account by visiting the registration page and entering your required personal and account information, including your name, email address, password, unique profile address, blood group, contact and location information, and your connection with blood donation.

You can also personalize your profile with a profile picture.

Registration is open not only to current donors, but also to people who previously donated, people interested in becoming donors, supporters of the BDOI® mission, donor family members and friends, and eligible organizations.

    Detailed Explanation

Joining BDOI® is the first step toward becoming part of the BDOI® community and India's voluntary blood-donation movement.

You do not have to be a current blood or platelet donor to join BDOI®.

Whether you currently donate, donated in the past, want to become a donor, support the mission, or are interested in blood-donation awareness, you can select the option that best describes your connection with blood donation.

To create your account, visit the BDOI® registration page:

    Register for BDOI®

Follow these steps to complete your registration.

Use your genuine name so that your BDOI® profile can represent you appropriately within the community.

Your email address may be used for account-related communication, such as registration confirmation, password recovery, and important BDOI® updates.

Make sure both password entries match before continuing.

    5. Choose Your Profile Address

    https://bdoi.org/hemang

    Important

    • You must enter your preferred profile address yourself.
    • There is no default profile address.
    • Each profile address must be unique.
    • If your chosen address already exists, BDOI® will notify you to choose a different one.
    • Select an available address before continuing with registration.
    • Choose an appropriate profile address that you would like to use for your BDOI® profile.

    6. Tell Us About Your Connection With Blood Donation

    During registration, BDOI® asks:

🩸 What best describes your connection with blood donation?

Select the option that best describes you today.

    Available options

    🔴 I am a blood/platelet donor

You currently donate blood or blood components such as platelets.

🟠 I was a donor, but I am currently unable to donate

You are not currently a donor but are interested in becoming one.

🟢 I am not a donor, but I want to support the BDOI® mission

    ❓ Other

Choose this option if none of the available choices accurately describes your connection with blood donation.

    Why does BDOI® ask this?

This information helps BDOI® understand the different people who make up its community.

BDOI® is not only for people who currently donate blood.

    The BDOI® community can include:

    • Current donors
    • Former donors
    • Future donors
    • Donor families and friends
    • Mission supporters
    • Blood-donation awareness supporters
    • Blood banks
    • Hospitals
    • Healthcare organizations
    • NGOs and social organizations
    • Other people interested in supporting the mission

You are not required to be a current donor to join BDOI®.

    7. Enter Your Blood Group

Enter your blood group in the My Blood group field.

This is a required registration field.

Providing accurate blood-group information is important because various BDOI® donor-related features may use blood-group information.

If you are uncertain about your blood group, use appropriate medical or laboratory records rather than guessing.

    8. Enter Your Address

Enter your address in the required address field:

    Address (Building, Street, Landmark)

Provide appropriate information that helps establish your location.

    9. Enter Your Pincode / Area

    Enter your 6-digit pincode.

BDOI® can use the pincode to help identify the corresponding post-office/area information.

Your state may be automatically detected from the pincode.

    10. Enter Your State / Province

    Select or confirm your State/Province.

Where supported, the state may be automatically identified from the pincode you enter.

    Check the information before continuing.

    11. Enter Your Mobile Number

Provide your mobile number where required.

Make sure the number is accurate and accessible to you.

Your mobile number may be used for supported account, communication, verification or platform-related functions.

    12. Upload Your Profile Picture

You can use the Profile Picture option to upload a photo from your device.

A clear, appropriate photograph can help other members recognize you and make your profile more personal.

This step is intended to personalize your BDOI® profile.

    13. Review Your Information

Before completing registration, review the information you have entered.

    In particular, check:

    • Full Name
    • Email Address
    • Password

    • Blood Group
    • Donation-connection selection
    • Address
    • Pincode / Area
    • State/Province
    • Mobile Number
    • Profile Picture

Make sure the information is accurate before submitting the registration form.

    14. Complete Registration

After entering the required information, click the Continue or applicable registration button.

    2. Check that your email address is valid.
    3. Check that your password entries match.
    4. Check that your profile address is available.
    5. Check your pincode and other required information.
    6. Follow any instructions displayed by BDOI®.

What if I am not a blood donor?

You can still register with BDOI®.

You do not need to be a current blood or platelet donor to become part of the BDOI® community.

During registration, select the option that best describes you.

    For example:

🟢 I am not a donor, but I want to support the BDOI® mission

    or:

    🔵 I am interested in becoming a blood/platelet donor

This allows BDOI® to welcome people at different stages of their connection with blood donation.

What if I used to donate but currently cannot donate?

    Select:

🟠 I was a donor, but I am currently unable to donate

You do not need to provide the reason for your current inability to donate in this registration question.

Your previous connection with blood donation remains an important part of your relationship with the BDOI® community.

What if I want to become a donor in the future?

    Select:

    🔵 I am interested in becoming a blood/platelet donor

You can then explore BDOI®'s educational resources, including:

    • Donation Eligibility
    • Myths & Facts
    • FAQs
    • Jeevan – AI Blood Donation Assistant
    • Blood-donation educational content

You should always confirm your actual eligibility with an appropriate healthcare professional or donation centre before donating.

What if I only want to support BDOI®?

    That's perfectly possible.

    Select:

🟢 I am not a donor, but I want to support the BDOI® mission

Supporting blood-donation awareness and the donor community does not necessarily require you to donate blood yourself.
