BDOI® recognizes blood donors because voluntary donors give their time and effort to support others without expecting a personal benefit in return. Recognition helps acknowledge their contribution, encourage continued participation, and inspire more people to consider voluntary blood donation.
Blood donation depends on people who are willing to give their time and donate voluntarily.
BDOI® believes that these contributions should not simply disappear into an unrecorded history.
Recognition provides a way to acknowledge the donor's journey and celebrate continued participation in voluntary blood donation.
BDOI® recognition is intended to celebrate a donor's contribution.
Depending on the available features and recorded information, recognition may include:
BDOI® can help members maintain a record of their donation journey through available tracking and recognition tools.
The BDOI Humanity Score™ represents a donor's recorded contribution according to BDOI®'s scoring system.
It should not be interpreted as a medical measurement or as a literal calculation of the number of lives saved.
A recognized donor can also become an example for someone who is considering their first donation.
This creates a positive cycle:
DONATE → RECORD → RECOGNISE → SHARE → INSPIRE → NEW DONOR
The purpose is not to compare the human value of one donor against another. Every voluntary donation is meaningful in its own context.
Donors generally donate to help others, not simply to receive recognition.
BDOI® recognition is therefore intended as an expression of appreciation for the donor's contribution and commitment.
Every donor has a story, and every donation adds another chapter to that journey. BDOI® helps you record, track and recognise that journey so your contribution can be remembered and inspire others.
