Under Indian guidelines, plasma donation by plasmapheresis may be performed at least 48 hours apart, not more than twice a week, and up to 24 times in one year, subject to medical eligibility.
Unlike whole blood donation, only plasma is collected during plasmapheresis, while red blood cells are returned to the donor. Because plasma regenerates relatively quickly, eligible donors may donate more frequently.
However, donation frequency is strictly regulated to ensure donor safety. Every plasma donation requires medical assessment before approval.
โค๏ธ Regular plasma donors provide continuous hope to patients who depend on life-saving plasma therapies throughout the year.
