B Negative (B-)
-
Biological Markers: Has B antigen only (No Rh antigen); contains Anti-A antibodies in plasma.
-
B- blood donor can give red blood cells to: B+, B-, AB+, and AB- patients.
-
B- blood receiver can receive red blood cells from: B- and O- donors.
-
Plasma / Platelet Rule: B- donors can give plasma to B and O types, and receive plasma from B and AB types.
-
Donor Insight: B- is rare. Because B- individuals can only receive Rh-negative blood, maintaining an active network of B- donors is critical.
