How often can I donate platelets?

    Short Answer

    According to Indian guidelines:

    • There should be at least 48 hours between platelet or plasma apheresis donations.
    • Platelet donation should not exceed twice in a week.
    • A donor should make no more than 24 platelet donations in one year.

If you have recently donated whole blood or platelets, different waiting periods apply before your next donation. Your blood bank will guide you based on your donation history.

❤️ Regular platelet donors provide a continuous lifeline for patients whose treatment depends on timely platelet transfusions.
